With the Thunder leading the Warriors 48-40 in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, Golden State's Draymond Green kicked Oklahoma City's Steven Adams between the legs and received a flagrant-1 foul. This helped ignite the Thunder, who were already on an 8-0 run at point, to close the second quarter on a 32-7 run.

After the game, Green told reporters that he didn't even know he kicked Adams, and that he expects the flagrant foul to be rescinded. Warriors coach Steve Kerr also expects the NBA to rescind the foul when it is reviewed, as he told reporters at the postgame press conference:

“There’s inadvertent contact all the time on plays so that really surprised me… I think (the NBA) would rescind it. Stuff like that happens all the time. There’s contact, arms (and) legs flailing.”

In trying to emphasize the amount of contact there is each play, Kerr brought up OKC point guard Russell Westbrook, and the fact that he tries to initiate contact on his shot:

“If they think (Green's) is on purpose… Westbrook kicks out his threes on every three and there’s contact and it’s just part of the game.”

Golden State's leader also added that he was surprised the referees even decided to review the play after it happened:

“I was shocked (the ref) even looked at it. There’s inadvertent contact all the time on plays so that really surprised me.”
