Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker wasn’t surprised over the random double-team controversy that occurred this offseason.

Booker and Joakim Noah got into it during a summer pick-up game after Noah told his team to double-team Booker. The Suns guard said you’re not supposed to double-team in open-runs because players are trying to work on their individual games.

Devin Booker was just frustrated because he was solely trying to work on his offensive game, but playing out of double-teams is part of basketball at the end of the day.

All the great scorers in NBA history had to learn how to play through double-teams and Booker has to experience it sooner or later anyway.

Last season for the Suns, Booker averaged 26.6 points while shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 32.6 percent from beyond the arc and 86.6 percent from the free-throw line. The sky is the limit for Booker, who is only 22.

The Suns have been looking for a starting-caliber point guard ever since they traded Eric Bledsoe to the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2017-18 season. Phoenix signed Ricky Rubio this summer.

Rubio is one of the best passers in the game. His presence alone on the Suns will allow Booker to focus on scoring the ball instead of running the offense and scoring.
