About a couple of weeks ago, there were rumors that surfaced about an alleged strain in the relationship between the Minnesota Timberwolves and their prized big man Karl-Anthony Towns. Sensing an opportunity to woo Towns to come play with him sometime down the road, Phoenix Suns scoring machine Devin Booker hopped on Twitter and posted a Photoshopped image of Karl-Anthony Towns wearing a Suns uniform.

Apparently, that’s not the end of Booker’s quest to get Towns in Phoenix. Just recently, he posted an image with some folks he described as “Great people.” Also, in that group was Towns, smiling seemingly happy with his company.

This should not sit well with Minnesota fans, who saw their team make it to the playoffs for the first time since 2004 thanks in large part to Towns. The 22-year-old center was second on the team back in the regular season in scoring with 21.3 points per game behind Jimmy Butler and led the Timberwolves in both rebounds (12.3) and blocks (1.4) per outing.

If the Suns would ever put an offer on the table for Minnesota in an attempt to get Towns, they’re probably going to have to cough up their rights for the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft.

Having said all of that, there seem to be zero reports about Minnesota seriously considering the possibility of trading away Towns.

Towns has one more year left on his current deal. He’ll be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2018-19 campaign unless he and the Timberwolves could work out an extension.
