The Phoenix Suns won Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals in thrilling fashion as DeAndre Ayton tipped in the game-winner. The Los Angeles Clippers fought hard, but the last-second play was just enough. The Suns are suddenly up 2-0, and they should be getting Chris Paul back for Game 3.

Chris Paul returning for Game 3 is huge for the Suns, who have found their way to stay afloat in his absence. A 40-point, Devin Booker triple-double got the job done in Game 1, and an Ayton buzzer-beater in Game 2.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Paul intends to play in Game 3, unless something unusual happens before then.

“Phoenix Suns star Chris Paul intends to make his return for Game 3 of WCF against the Los Angeles Clippers barring unforeseen setback.”

This is fantastic news for the Suns, and unfortunate news and timing for the Clippers, who are still hoping and pondering any possible return of Kawhi Leonard, who also missed the first two games of the series.

However, the Clippers have faced a pair of 2-0 deficits in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, so this isn't exactly new territory for them. With the next two games being played at Staples Center, there's a very real possibility that the series heads back to Phoenix in Game 5 tied up at 2-2.
