The Phoenix Suns made the surprising decision on Monday morning to part ways with head coach Earl Watson just three games into the 2017-18 season.

Second-year guard Devin Booker has weighed in on the move as he told Scott Bordow of AZ Central that he believes that Watson wasn't given enough time.

The Suns have struggled tremendously through the first three games on both ends of the floor currently giving up a league-worst 128.7 points per game while scoring 98.0 points per contest. This includes suffering a franchise-worst 48-point blowout loss in the season opener against the Trail Blazers while surrendering more than 120 points in each game.

This had been just his second season as the head coach after replacing Jeff Hornacek as the interim coach in 2016 and was given the job for the 2016-17 campaign. That said, the Suns had a 33-85 record with Watson at the helm that saw them finish with a 24-58 record last year.

Although Phoenix had continued to struggle, the front office had made the decision to go through a full rebuild with a roster centered around young talent in Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender. There was an expectation that the team would struggle while their players grow into dependable contributors, but this move signals that there could be a major shift in thinking moving forward.
