The Phoenix Suns have easily been one of the worst teams in the NBA. In fact, they are currently 14th in the Western Conference. Packed with a bit too much young talent, the Suns simply don't have enough mature talent to win consistently this year.

Although Devin Booker's career year has been a bright spot in this season, the Suns' regular season has been more negative than positive. This has caused the Suns to reconsider the direction of their team, firing their previous coach Earl Watson earlier in the season. Interim head coach Jay Triano has done his best to make the best of this season, but it's right now clear that the Suns are suffering from roster issues that can't be fixed by any head coach.

Nonetheless, in the offseason, the Suns will look for an individual to fill their head coach position. Of course, Jay Triano will be interviewed for the position, but the Suns will also interview some college coaches for their head coaching position this summer, per Scott Bordow of AZ Central.

Ryan McDonough just said on Suns' Facebook live interview that Phoenix will interview several coaching candidates. Mentioned college coaches too. Triano will get an interview as well.

This development stands to reason, specifically since the Suns are looking for college coaches to be further develop their young core. Triano definitely has a shot at retaining his head coaching position, but the Suns are making it clear now that they want to find their coach of the future, especially since they are attempting to build a franchise around Booker.
