Video: Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes finds Damien Williams for go-ahead TD vs. 49ers
However, it was San Francisco that came out swinging in the second half. Soon, they had a 20-10 lead and it was already the fourth quarter.
Kansas City would not go down without a fight though. We all should have known that. The Chiefs scored with just over six minutes left in the game, to make it a 20-17 game. After a quick defensive stop, Kansas City was on the move again.
A few big plays got the Chiefs to the red zone. Then a Patrick Mahomes pass led to a Damien Williams touchdown, a touchdown that gave the Chiefs a 24-20 lead.

Adding to the suspense of Super Bowl 54, the play had to be looked at. It was unclear if Williams actually got into the end zone. Looking at it, it really is hard to determine.
However, the officials ruled that it was indeed a touchdown. That gave the Chiefs a four point lead with just 2:44 left in the game.
This is setting up an epic Super Bowl. Either the Chiefs will have an amazing fourth quarter comeback, that ended with a touchdown with just under three minutes left, or the 49ers will have blown a lead only to score a game-winning touchdown in the final second score.
This certainly has been a ridiculously entertaining game. And it should come as no surprise to anyone that both the San Francisco defense and the Kansas City offense have had their moments to shine. Right now, the Chiefs offense is set to have the last laugh though in Super Bowl 54.
