Tyrann Mathieu moved from the Arizona Cardinals to the Houston Texans this offseason and has already gotten a good look at quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Watson is entering his second year in the league but Mathieu is already seeing a lot of characteristics of a quarterback he has faced a lot, Russell Wilson. Mathieu has been really impressed with the way that Watson has gone about his business and already sees a lot of veteran tendencies.

“It's a beautiful thing,” Mathieu said via The Houston Chronicle. “Any time you have a quarterback that's special, just has that uncanny ability to just create things on the fly, it always gives you a chance to win a football game.

“I always mention Russell Wilson just because I played against him so much early on in my career. The things that he did for Seattle when they were completely out of a football game, he always brought them back. I think any time you have a quarterback of that caliber, it always helps you.”

Watson is working back from an ACL injury but is expected to be the guy as the Texans try to make it back to the playoffs.

Comparing Watson to Russell is putting a lot of pressure on the lead guy by Mathieu but as a first-round quarterback, those are the expectations that are placed on you when you are taken with the 12th pick of the first round. The expectations are high for the Texans this year and how well they do comes down a lot to how well Watson can lead the team.
