A few iffy reports came on Sunday, claiming that the Houston Texans were kicking the tires on bringing in quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Not only were those reports quickly refuted as an iffy PR tactic by the team, but credible reporters have since said the National Football League franchise hasn't even contacted the polarizing gunslinger.

Jay Glazer, of FOX, reported that there was a push within the locker room to bring in Colin Kaepernick. But it was only from the players, and not from owner Bob McNair.

For those unaware, McNair has come under a lot of fire the last few weeks. It started with him inferring players are inmates, then apologizing in a way that claims he did not, and is apparently culminating with him willingly letting the season get away from the Texans.

How do we know the latter part is true? Because Houston is currently operating with Tom Savage at quarterback and brought in two backup gunslingers who weren't good enough to be on any other roster in the league this season.

Also worth mentioning that, given Deshaun Watson's style, Colin Kaepernick would be a presumed perfect fit for Houston's offense. Nevertheless, after seeing Tom Savage struggle for the majority of his career, Houston appears set on sticking with who it currently has.

The Texans quickly signed Matt McGloin and T.J. Yates after Watson was lost for the season. Couple them in with Savage, given how good a roster Houston has outside the QB position, it will be a real shame if the reason the team doesn't reach its full potential is due to a form of stubbornness.
