Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey has never been shy about expressing his honest regarding the caliber of today's NFL quarterbacks. It appears Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is one of the few that have garnered his respect.

Ramsey is certainly not one to share heavy praise for quarterbacks. According to Anthony R. Wood of the Texans Wire, Watson is an exception thanks to his level of talent:

“I’ve been very complimentary of Deshaun before when I talked about quarterbacks, and I said that he was going to be one of the best in the league and I stand by that,” said Ramsey on Thursday, ahead of their match-up against the Texans on Sunday.

“I think he is emerging as one of the best in the league. He had an amazing game the other night (versus New Orleans), led their offense. I’m biased, too. That’s a good friend of mine. I talked to him last night, crazy.”

This is certainly some high praise coming from Ramsey. Although he suggests that his friendship with Watson makes him biased, it is safe to say that the majority of the league would agree with his comments.

Watson was nothing short of spectacular in the 2019 NFL season opener. He completed 20 of 30 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns while tacking on another 40 yards and a touchdown with his legs. More importantly, the poise he showed to give his team a brief lead in the fourth quarter was an encouraging sign of what to expect.

Ramsey has been very complimentary of the Texans ahead of their AFC South showdown in Week 2. Aside from Watson being an elite quarterback, the Jaguars star also praised wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for being as good as advertised. He seems to know full well that he will have his hands full trying to help contain the passing game this week.
