Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay will be unable to play in this year's Pro Bowl due to a wrist injury. As a result, a spot on the roster has been opened for Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller. The Texans were already well-represented, with four of their players being named to the Pro Bowl. According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, Miller will become the fifth:

Instead, Texans running back Lamar Miller will take Lindsay’s spot on the roster.

This is a stellar career milestone for Miller. Despite serving as Houston's workhorse back over the last several years, this is the first time he has earned a trip to the Pro Bowl. He will now have the opportunity to join teammates Jadeveon Clowney, DeAndre Hopkins, Benardrick McKinney, and J.J. Watt as the Texans' representatives. It's the most players Houston has sent to the Pro Bowl since 2012, when they had eight.

Miller managed to piece together a stellar statistical season. He finished the 2018 campaign with 973 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns on 210 carries. The 27-year-old also tacked on 25 receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown, despite being slowed by an ankle injury in the final two games of the season. Miller also tied a career-high for 100-yard games with four.

It is no secret that Houston fell vastly short of expectations following their loss to the Indianapolis Colts in the Wild Card last week. Fortunately, they can take solace in the fact that they still boast one of the more talented rosters in the league. Their representation at this year's Pro Bowl solidifies that notion.
