The Houston Texans signed Randall Cobb in hopes that he could become a valuable addition to the offense. Despite it being a questionable move to sign him, an NFL executive believes that Deshaun Watson will ‘love' Cobb.

At the beginning of free agency, the Texans made a head-scratching trade, sending DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. In exchange for Hopkins, Houston received David Johnson, a second-round pick, and a fourth-round pick.

Due to the lack of a return for the All-Pro receiver, nearly every single Texans fan was confused. They were thinking why would Bill O'Brien would accept that trade? Following the peculiar trade, O'Brien thought it was best to replace Hopkins with Cobb.

Throughout his nine seasons in the NFL, Cobb has done most of his damage from out of the slot. Seeing that Kenny Stills and Will Fuller are already on the roster, the Texans seem to be overcrowded with slot specialists.

However, Cobb does bring some veteran leadership into a locker room that desperately needs it now more than ever. This past season, Cobb recorded 55 receptions for 828 yards and three touchdowns with the Dallas Cowboys. Also, his 15.1 yards per reception was a career-high for the former second round pick out of Kentucky.

Even with Cobb turning 30 years old later this year, some executives believe that Cobb will make a difference in Houston's passing attack. With that being said, it's safe to say Watson would rather have Hopkins as his go-to receiver in the offense. Nevertheless, Watson is now inclined to make Cobb one of his reliable targets next season.
