The Houston Texans made a statement with their dominant win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7. This provided wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins with the perfect opportunity to throw some shade toward cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

There has been plenty of noise surrounding the budding rivalry between Hopkins and Ramsey. However, according to Aaron Reiss of The Athletic, the former was not aware there was one:

DeAndre Hopkins was asked about his rivalry with Jalen Ramsey.

He replied: How can that be a rivalry? What’s the Texans’ record vs the Jags with Ramsey on the team?

As he left the room he said: “7-2”

Although it was an excellent troll job by Hopkins, it was not completely true. Ramsey was not around during a majority of Jacksonville's wins. Regardless, it is clear that he may have heard all the talk during the offseason. Hopkins may have gotten the better of the Jaguars' secondary this time around, however, they did do a solid job of containing him after he registered three catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Aside from the numbers, Hopkins has enjoyed plenty of success against Jacksonville during his time in Houston. Their win has helped them secure the top spot in the AFC South for the time being. The division is still up for grabs given every team's struggles to start the year. While he may have solidified some bragging rights, Hopkins may want to save his remarks for when these two teams square off again in the season finale in what could potentially be a deciding game.
