Why Texas A&M Could Cover The Spread

The air raid offense played a significant factor in the victory last weekend. However, the Aggies might need to generate a running game. The goal is to continue strong drives. Also, they must start better. They were only up 7-0 after the first quarter. Eventually, they pulled away in the second. The Aggies should also limit penalties. Unfortunately, they committed too many, and that tampered with their early efforts. But the number one thing they must do is produce better ball control.

Daniels can help with that. Somehow, he only had seven touches. He will need to run the ball more to give the Aggies a better chance of covering the spread against a better team. Then, he will need to find open lanes.

Texas A&M will cover the spread if they can establish a running game and not be so one-dimensional on offense. Likewise, they have to avoid costly mistakes such as penalties.

Why Miami Could Cover The Spread

Miami has a three-headed monster they can unleash. Now, they hope to unleash it again. Parrish, Fletcher, and Allen all excelled in the victory against the Red Hawks. Hence, they would love to replicate the effort and run it back. Miami might need a better passing game. Unfortunately, running the ball does not always work against every defense. Van Dyke must avoid the mistakes he made in the opener. Furthermore, he must avoid turnovers. It would help if they could do better on third downs.

The defense must continue to get pressure off the edge. Ultimately, that is their strength and something they hope to continue. But the Hurricanes could do more to produce more turnovers. Ultimately, they must pressure the Aggies and put them in situations to force them into making some mistakes.

Miami will cover the spread if they once again establish a great ground game while limiting mistakes through the air. Also, the defense must generate some pressure.

Final Texas A&M-Miami Prediction & Pick

Both teams dominated last weekend. However, they are more evenly matched with each other. The Hurricanes have more offensive weapons than they did a year ago. Therefore, expect them to cover the spread this time around.

Final Texas A&M-Miami Prediction & Pick: Miami +3.5 (-118)
