Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns will miss another two weeks with his fractured wrist.

Towns missed 15 games earlier this season for the Timberwolves with a sprained knee. He’s played in 35 games and is averaging 26.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from beyond the arc and 79.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The Timberwolves are 19-42 on the season. They are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings.

Towns desperately wants to return to the court this season to play with star point guard D’Angelo Russell, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic:

The translation: The Timberwolves don’t plan to let their place in the standings dictate their decision with Towns. League sources told The Athletic that Karl-Anthony Towns desperately wants to return to the court this season to play with D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and the rest of a completely revamped Wolves roster. He and Russell have been talking for years about playing together, and watching Gersson Rosas engineer the trades just before the deadline energized him for the stretch run. But Towns has only played one game with Russell, and now will be watching from the bench for his second extended stretch this season.

The Timberwolves will miss the playoffs again this season. Minnesota has only been to the playoffs once since drafting Towns.
