The Tennessee Titans gutted it out against the Buffalo Bills on Monday to escape with a nail-biting 34-32 victory. It was a hard-earned win, to say the least, with the Titans improving to 4-2 after six weeks of action.

Running back Derrick Henry starred for the Titans, scoring three touchdowns, including one with only three minutes left in the game to give them the lead. Then the defense took care of business on the other end, stifling the last-gasp attempt of Bills quarterback Josh Allen to seal the W.

While Henry was absolutely a beast, he shunned the credit after the game and instead tipped his hat to the Titans' defenders (via ESPN).

“We got some dogs over there. They fight to the end. They showed it right there.”

While Henry's pronouncement was sweet, numbers would tell otherwise. They are in the bottom half of the NFL in terms of defensive numbers, including giving up close to 390 yards per game.

The strong showing against the Bills, however, could be the impetus for the Titans to shore up their defensive tactics. Henry, the league's rushing leader and reigning AP Offensive Player of the Year, needs more help on the other end if they want to be more consistent.

The Titans will look for their third straight win next Sunday as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs still playing without star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
