Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has just returned to team practice after being sidelined by injury. He is working double-time to ensure that he is top shape by the time they play the Cleveland Browns on September 8.

The 25-year-old running back wasn't able to start preseason with the team due to a calf injury he sustained during drills. He had to sit out during the Titans' first two preseason games because of it.

However, he plans to be back in shape in time to face a young and dangerous team in the Browns.

Henry detailed with Titans Online how eager he is to be back training with his guys:

“I missed being out there with my teammates, but my focus has just been on getting healthy, and helping this team win games,” Henry said. “I am getting better each and every day to make sure I am ready to go Week One.

“I just need to get back in the rhythm, and it just takes practice. After this week and next week, I should be fine. I am just happy to be back out there playing football again and getting healthy. I am getting better every day.”

Henry, who was drafted by the Titans in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft, showed steady progress in his three years at the Nissan Stadium. He had an incredible 2018, notching 1059 yards and 12 TDs. His longest rushing attempt was an incredible 99-yard dash.

The Titans will definitely need his production to counter a deadly Cleveland team. The Browns have an explosive runner in Nick Chubb. Baker Mayfield is a sniper inside the pocket, and he has two outstanding receivers in Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr.
