Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is the reigning rushing champion and is having another tremendous season in 2020.

Henry would almost certainly be entitled to thinking he is the best back in the league. Instead, Henry is giving Dalvin Cook his flowers.

The former Alabama star hailed the Minnesota Vikings running back as the best in football this year:

“He’s the best back in the league and is having a phenomenal year,” Henry said, via ESPN's Turron Davenport. “Running the ball, catching the ball; he’s very explosive. Runs hard, runs through tackles, makes guys miss. He’s been balling.”

Henry is the NFL's rushing leader once again through the first 11 weeks of the season, though Cooks is right on his heels.

Cook (1,069) trails the Titans talent (1,079) by just ten yards, and he has been every bit the workhorse Henry has been this season.

The 25-year-old is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and has the most rushing touchdowns (13) in the NFL. But Cook is also making himself plenty available in the passing game.

Cook has 25 receptions for 234 yards thus far. He is not quite on the same pace as last season, but also has 170 yards receiving in the last four games.

There are a number of explosive backs in the NFL. New Orleans Saints feature back Alvin Kamara has been as valuable as any for his ability to make explosive plays in the passing game and churn out yards on the ground.

Henry is also capable of going nuts at any given moment. However, the Titans star feels Cook has been the best player at the position this year.
