Ryan Tannehill's recent comments regarding the Titans' decision to draft Malik Willis have not sat well with many around the league. After Tannehill said publicly it wasn't his job to mentor the rookie quarterback, many have come out of the woodwork to slam the Titans' QB for not being a team player. After Kurt Warner weighed in on Tuesday, LeSean McCoy gave his two cents on the situation and absolutely bodied Tannehill via Twitter.

McCoy kept it real with his comments, saying that he understands why Tannehill wouldn't want to mentor the rookie. Still, he ripped into the Titans QB for being a bad teammate, saying that “winning is the only stat that matters if you are a good teammate.” Shady suggested that if Tannehill were to get injured, he'd likely regret not having been more of a mentor to the young Willis, who would stand to start in his place.

Tannehill revealed on Tuesday that he was not informed by the Titans ahead of time about their decision to draft Willis in the third round. The veteran QB then said it wasn't his job to mentor Willis, before claiming he texted the rookie on draft night to welcome him to the team.

The Titans drafted Willis with the No. 86 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Willis was a projected first-round pick, with many analysts expecting him to be the first quarterback off the board. Kenny Pickett ended up getting drafted in the first round, and no quarterback was taken until the Titans grabbed Willis in Round 3.
