Throughout the week, there have been questions concerning the status of Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota due to a stinger injury.

Mariota exited last Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts after suffering the ailment in the contest. Despite being limited in practice over the last few days, he is on track to play in Monday's showdown against the Houston Texans, according to Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

The Tennessee Titans should have their starting quarterback on the field for a pivotal division matchup Monday night versus the Houston Texans.

Marcus Mariota got in a full practice on Friday, and head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters that the signal-caller is expected to start.

Beyond his struggles on the field, Marcus Mariota has been hampered by various injuries throughout the season as he previously missed a game due to an elbow injury. It hasn't quite been the season the Titans hoped for as he has struggled to produce, throwing for 1,583 yards and seven touchdowns to six interceptions. He has had difficulty finding any fluidity in the passing game, throwing for more than 250 yards just once while going five games without a single touchdown pass and fewer than 200 passing yards five times.

This has significantly impacted the level of production for a Titans offense that ranks 30th overall and in passing, along with 28th with 17.8 points per contest. They have also failed to score more than 20 points five times this season, and the team holds a 1-4 record in those contests.

Marcus Mariota and the Titans have a tough challenge in Week 12 against Houston. The Texans' defense ranks sixth overall, including eighth against the pass, ninth in opponent quarterback rating, fifth in yards allowed per attempt, and fifth in scoring. The Titans are currently two games behind the Texans for the top spot of the AFC South standings.
