Through his first three seasons in the NFL, Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota has proven to be one of the game's top young players at that the position.

However, he is coming off another season where he experienced a notable drop in his production that has drawn some concern about his ability to throw the ball. According to Jason Wolf of USA TODAY Sports, Mariota voiced that he wants to improve his accuracy throwing the ball by altering his footwork.

“It’s tough because it’s hard to break old habits,” Mariota said during the Titans' first of three weeks of organized team activities at Saint Thomas Sports Park. “I think for a long time I’ve been playing with such a narrow base. If I’m able to accomplish, really, that goal of mine, to stay in a good solid base throughout, I think I can make a lot of the throws that are asked of me in this offense. As I continue to be out here, I’ve just got to continue to be mindful of it and find ways to just self-correct and just get better.”

The 24-year-old currently holds a 61.8 completion percent through his first three campaigns that put him at a reasonable mark throwing the ball. This desired uptick in his accuracy could help him bounce back from a disappointing 2017 campaign where he threw 13 fewer touchdowns while committing six more interceptions in the process

There is should more comfortable for him adjusting his footwork with the removal of his knee brace that has been dawning over the last two years since spraining his left MCL in his rookie campaign. This could provide him more flexibility and comfort to move around on the field.

With there still being several weeks left in the offseason prior to the start of the preseason, it should give Mariota time to work on reworking his footwork in an attempt to improve his accuracy.
