When the Tennessee Titans were eliminated in the playoffs, Ryan Tannehill didn't say much when it came to his impending free agency but was willing to answer questions after the Pro Bowl. Following the AFC's 38-33 victory over the NFC, Tannehill opened up about his mindset heading into free agency.

“I think it will work out the way it’s supposed to,” Tannehill said, via the team’s website. “There is stress involved — you never know what is going to happen. A lot of things have to happen to get it nailed down. If it doesn’t happen then I’ll head to free agency and we’ll see what happens there. Who knows what is out there on the horizon? I’ll just try not to stress out about it and believe that it will work out the way it is supposed to and try and make the best decisions along the way.”

At this time last year, Tannehill was unsure of what his future with the Miami Dolphins was going to be. Then, nearly a month after the 2018 season concluded, Tannehill was dealt to the Titans for two draft picks.

When Tannehill landed in Tennessee, the expectation was that he'd spend the season as the backup to Marcus Mariota. Instead, after a slow start to the season, Mariota would be benched in favor of Tannehill in Week 7.

From that moment on, the Titans were a completely different team with the Texas A&M product under center. The former Dolphins quarterback ended the season with 2,742 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 10 starts.

Above all, the Titans finished with a 9-7 record and were just one game away from reaching the Super Bowl. Now, the veteran signal-caller will wait patiently as he hopes to negotiate a new contract with the Titans.
