The Tennessee Titans lost their grasp of the the top seed in the AFC and have truly felt the loss of their All Pro running back Derrick Henry as of late. While he's still not set to return in the coming weeks, his injury progress on his surgically-repaired foot is reportedly all going according to plan.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Titans RB's rehab is going “so well” that he may be able to return just before the regular season ends.

Sources say that rehab for the All-Pro rushing champion is going so well that Henry is in line to return for the playoffs if Tennessee makes it in — or potentially Week 18 if the Titans face a win-and-in situation. The team was optimistic he would play again following surgery to repair the fifth metatarsal on Nov. 2, and reports on his progress have bolstered that good feeling.

The Titans surprisingly stayed afloat in the first two weeks after Derrick Henry injured his foot in their Week 8 win over the divisional-rival Indianapolis Colts. They pulled off a surprising upset over the Los Angeles Rams on their home field and beat the New Orleans Saints in a closely fought affair.

But after an embarrassing loss to a despondent Houston Texans side followed by a thrashing at the hands of the new AFC-leading New England Patriots, it's clear the Titans miss their best player badly.

Derrick Henry is the engine that drives the Titans' offense. Once they have him back, Tennessee once again becomes a real threat in the AFC.
