Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Vic Beasley made headlines for all the wrong reasons with his delayed start to training camp. Unfortunately, it appears he has now suffered yet another setback to his stint in Tennessee.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter,  Vic Beasley has been placed on the non-football injury list after failing his physical:

Titans’ LB Vic Beasley did not pass his physical and was placed on the team’s Non-Football Injury list.

It is safe to say that Beasley's tenure with the Titans has gotten off to a rocky start. He first drew unnecessary attention with his unexcused absence from the start of training camp, which ultimately cost him $500,000 in fines after signing a one-year, $9.5 million deal this offseason. The latest update indicates that Vic Beasley was not staying on top of his conditioning during that time.

The update on Vic Beasley is hardly ideal for Tennessee, who thought they were getting plenty of bang for their buck from the former Atlanta Falcons edge rusher. After all, expectations remain as high as ever going into the 2020 NFL season and he was expected to provide a major boost to the pass rushing department.

The only silver lining is that teams will have a longer ramp-up period since the preseason has been cancelled. Regardless, the restrictions placed in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic have clearly offered up its own set of challenges for Vic Beasley. The onus will fall on the former first-team All-Pro to get back on track by passing his physical before he can be activated off the NFI list.
