Earlier today, Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke finally pulled the cord on Jeff Fisher, firing the head coach after a 4-9 start.

Their defense has looked great at times, but it's given up a ton of points lately. Really, the offense has been this team's problem.

LA ranks last in both yards and points per game. Other than a few decent drives, they simply can't move the ball, and it's been difficult for fans to watch.

Perhaps this stat best illustrates how putrid the offensive attack has been:

Tell us how you really feel, Todd

After the game, running back Todd Gurley, who's endured a major sophomore slump in LA, described the Rams' offense with some pretty harsh words. From ESPN's Alden Gonzalez:

Gurley, held below 100 rushing yards for the 20th time in his past 21 games, was asked if he believes everybody on his team is showing up to play.

“I don't,” the running back replied. “I really don't. We're just going through the motions. It looks like everybody's just playing to get through.”

We looked like a middle school offense out there,” Gurley said after compiling 83 yards from scrimmage and punching in the Rams' first touchdown at the start of the fourth quarter. “I mean, I'm going to be quiet. My mom said if you don't have anything good to say, don't even say it. I'm just going to leave it as that.”

With his star running back tearing the offense to shreds, Kroenke finally decided that it was time to act. Here's the official statement from the Rams and Kroenke on relieving Fisher of his duties:

There's still a long way to go to fix this offense, but there's at least some hope with Fisher's departure.
