‘Ted Lasso' Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham is ready to defend Tom Cruise against critics. “I have to say, I have a real problem with anybody that goes at [Tom Cruise] now.”

Following her experience working with the Oscar nominee on the upcoming Mission: Impossible 8, Waddingham praises Cruise from experience. The Ted Lasso star who recently appeared on ITV’s ‘James Martin’s Saturday Morning,' shared her admiration for Cruise.

Per Variety, she described the actor as one of the “loveliest and encouraging, positive and inspiring human beings” she has ever met. The actress, whose “Mission: Impossible 8” character is yet to be revealed, spent five intense days filming with Cruise on the USS George H.W. Bush fighter carrier. She mentioned having another significant scene to shoot with Cruise once production resumes.

The Ted Lasso star reveals she also won't be listening to Tom Cruise haters. “Isn’t he gorgeous? I have no time for anyone saying anything about him.”

Growing up on boats due to her father's career in the river police, Waddingham eagerly embraced the opportunity to film scenes on an actual fighter carrier. During which she expressed her familiarity with the world.

Before her role in Mission: Impossible 8, Hannah Waddingham will be seen in the action comedy The Fall Guy. She will star alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. The film will be releasing on on May 3, 2023, from Universal Pictures.

Paramount Pictures delayed the release of ‘Mission: Impossible 8‘ from June 28, 2024, to May 23, 2025, citing strike-related production delays. Despite the setback, the eighth installment is set to have a three-week exclusive Imax run.
