Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have reignited their feud after Diaz was booked in a welterweight fight with top contender Leon Edwards for UFC 262.

Diaz announced the bout on Twitter after it was finalized Tuesday evening. He made sure to point out the lightweight title fight between Michael Chandler and Oliveira on the same card, suggesting they are two guys who have worked hard for a shot at the title.

The “Notorious One” seemed to take issue, especially with the lightweight shoutout.

Conor McGregor went on a targeted Twitter rant on Wednesday, seemingly taking shots at Diaz's wealth in comparison to his own. He also brought back the “fat skinny tick” categorization he used to describe Diaz ahead of their first fight at UFC 196.

It did not take Diaz very long to respond.

The popular UFC star cited his willingness to fight at a moment's notice regardless of the circumstances. He said he paved his own way in the company, whereas the UFC gave McGregor a “booster seat” on his way to combat sports superstardom.

The final parting shot came when Diaz included a picture from his submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196, which remains one of the most iconic fights in the company's history.

Truly incredible banter from the two fighters that birthed one of the best rivalries in the sport.

For now, Diaz will be focused on getting a victory over Edwards in May. Conor McGregor seems to be heading towards a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

However, it would hardly be a surprise to see a McGregor-Diaz trilogy somewhere down the line.
