Tai Tuivasa is a man of the people. The UFC heavyweight has been winning over fans with his exciting fighting style and his fun personality.
His signature move after winning fights is to do what's called a ‘shoey,' drinking beer out of a shoe. Something he plans to do with a win over Derrick Lewis at UFC 271.
“I’m definitely not going to go out there and wrestle him,” Tuivasa said with a laugh at Wednesday’s media day event via MMAJunkie. “It would have been my smarter side there, but, you know, I’m a banger as well, and I think that’s going to be the fight. It’s going to be, you know, the smartest fighter wins, and then the person who lands the hardest punch wins.”
The fight at UFC 271 is between two knockout artists that like to box. The bout has plenty of danger in it between the two heavyweights, that's exactly how Tai Tuivasa likes it.
“It’s a very exciting fight for me,” Tuivasa said. “It’s either I’m going to get my head taken off or I’m going to take his head off, so that’s why I fight. That’s what excites me, and I’m looking forward to putting a show on.”
Tai Tuivasa does plan to make one disgusting change to his shoey should he beat Derrick Lewis at UFC 271. He wants to drink the beer out of The Black Beast's cup…
“He can throw it to me when I win and I’ll do a cupey out of his ball guard, then,” Tuivasa said. “I’m keen.”
