The ongoing feud between Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal continues to grow ahead of Edwards' UFC bout against Belal Muhammad. Back in 2019, Masvidal and Edwards got into a skirmish backstage at an ESPN+ post-show. Leon Edwards claims it was nothing but cheap shots, while Masvidal describes the encounter as giving him a “three-piece and a soda.”

“What happened with me and him, that's away from fighting. That's street stuff,” Edwards tells TMZ Sports.
Edwards is still upset about the incident, and rightfully so. Typically the fighting takes place inside the octagon, however, Masvidal and Edwards' hatred for each other stems from a personal level. It's unclear as to when the two UFC stars began poking at each other, but for a sport based around fighting, this is something we see all the time.
Article Continues BelowLeon Edwards wasn't short with words in his call-out on Jorge Masvidal, per TMZ Sports.
“You best get your a** in the Octagon 'cause it's either on the street or in the Octagon but you're gonna get it. Wherever you want it, you choose, in the Octagon or on the street, I'm good to go either way.”
The English fighter is currently ranked third, while Masvidal is in fourth. They're neck and neck in the Welterweight rankings, which means there is a good chance these two face off in the cage soon. However, before that happens, Edwards will be fighting against Belal Muhammad on Saturday night.
It seems as though Edwards is out for blood as he climbs the ranks up the UFC ladder. We'll see how he fares against Belal Muhammad. However, a potential matchup between Edwards and Masvidal is likely to occur.
