The San Antonio Spurs are facing the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Spurs forward DeMar DeRozan made an emphatic statement during the first quarter of the game.

DeRozan was able to get past Thunder forward Paul George and scored with a sick reverse slam dunk that wowed the San Antonio fans in attendance.

The nine-year veteran has been the leader for the Spurs this season, after being part of a trade that also sent Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors.

As of this writing, the Spurs are leading the Thunder 39-31 early in the first. Marco Belinelli and LaMarcus Aldridge are leading the charge for San Antonio with 11 and 10 points respectively. OKC each got five points from George and All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook.

In a battle between two Western Conference contenders, a win for the Spurs will put them in the sixth spot, while the Houston Rockets will slide down to the No. 7 spot. A win by the Thunder will put them a game behind the Golden State Warriors at No. 2 in the standings.

Both teams are coming off losses, with the Spurs falling to the Memphis Grizzlies while the Thunder are on a two-game losing streak, falling to the Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves in their previous two contests.
