JaVale McGee proved all his doubters wrong last season with his best year as a pro, helping the Golden State Warriors win their second championship in three years.

However, he was not able to secure a more lucrative offer this summer, and had to settle for the veteran’s minimum once again, with another one-year deal with the Dubs. Despite the unfortunate development in his career, McGee has continued to work hard on his game, and even documented his workouts, hoping to generate interest from teams around the league in the future.

Known for being an above-average shot blocker and defender near the basket, the 29-year-old Nevada product has been trying to add a new move to his arsenal, which may very well surprise many. In two videos he chronicled earlier in the summer, it was noticeable that McGee was shooting 3-pointers and even having success with it.

The unexpected outside shooting even continued in the Drew League, as he reportedly made some during games to the shock and delight of the fans, according to Nate Jones of Goodwin Sports.

If McGee will be able to consistently knock down 3-pointers, he could turn out to be another stretch big man for the Warriors, and could also be in line to take on an even bigger role for them next season.

While it's definitely an uphill climb for McGee to unlock the new skill, it helps that he'll around Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant almost every day during training camp and into the new season.
