Golden State Warriors hotshot Klay Thompson had the time of his life in the Orient this summer, when he traveled to China to sign a huge endorsement deal with shoe brand Anta and of course, to experience everything the country could offer.

Conversely, the internet also had so much fun following every activity Thompson would undertake in the nation of 1.3 billion folks because often, it ended in unintentional comedic gold. Thompson failed badly to dunk a basketball in front of his fans, lost an arm wrestling match with a female fan, sprayed people with champagne, went buck wild dancing at a Chinese club, name it and Thompson probably did it in his brief retreat in China. All these have prompted Twitter to see the birth of the #ChinaKlay hashtag which people used to keep track of the latest happenings in Thompson’s life while he’s in China.

To this day, Klay Thompson’s trip there continues to amuse people and when asked if he was ever aware of the #ChinaKlay movement on social media during the Warriors' media day on Friday, the shooting guard revealed it took time for him to pick up on it because he jokingly thought that China wasn’t plugged to the internet.

That’s some funny way for Thompson to give his take on it. China is in his rearview mirror now, however, as his focus is on helping the Warriors repeat.
