Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he hangs it up in the future. He owns one of the most decorated resumes in NBA history, but one major accolade has remained elusive to this day—the NBA Finals MVP.

Curry's first crack at the award came during the 2015 NBA Finals. It was the launch of the Warriors' modern-day dynasty. However, the league deemed Andre Iguodala was more deserving of the hardware.

During an appearance on “The Old Man & The Three,” Iguodala was asked by host JJ Redick if he truly felt more worthy than Curry. The former Warriors forward recalled his talk with Miami Heat teammate Trevor Ariza on the matter.

“I'm not even really that good. I lucked out and got one Finals MVP.” Iguodala said. “I'm very comfortable with my skin. I would rather Steph have it.”

Ariza insisted it was Iguodala's award to which the latter agreed to later on.

In the 2015 Finals, Curry averaged 26 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.8 steals compared to Iguodala's 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.3 steals throughout six games. While Curry owned the boxscore, Iguodala proved to be the lynchpin as the Warriors turned the series around.

The Cleveland Cavaliers were beginning to figure out Golden State but head coach Steve Kerr flipped the script when he turned to a small-ball attack. Iguodala took over David Lee's minutes and the Warriors never looked back.

Andre Iguodala's Finals MVP award has since been debated by many. Meanwhile, Stephen Curry still has some years left to finally add one to his trophy case.
