Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant was in attendance in the inauguration of his recently established “The Durant Center.” The reigning back-to-back Finals MVP has received a ton of praise for his charitable work, and the latest to send their congratulations is none other than NBA great Bill Russell.

The Durant Center, a foundation that aims to help underprivileged kids by providing them with educational and sports opportunities, was spearheaded by Durant. In a recent interview, the 30-year-old explained how this is very personal to him, as he himself experienced this very same oppression as a teenager.

Despite his extracurricular activities, however, Durant's focus on his day job remains as straight as an arrow. The four-time NBA scoring champ continues to be one of the best players in the game today, and has been a focal point in the Warriors' quest for an unprecedented three-peat.

Durant is currently averaging a “low key” 27.8 points (on 51.0 percent shooting), 1.9 three-pointers, 7.3 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.2 blocks for the Warriors. With all the fireworks going on in Oakland night in and night out, some might say that Durant's remarkable season has been somewhat overlooked.

Nonetheless, it's going to be a very interesting summer for Durant after this season concludes. The player option stipulation on his current deal simply means that he can opt to walk away and leave the Warriors during the offseason. There's still a lot that's going to happen between now and then, which may or may not influence Durant's decision, but until pen is put to paper, the prospect of losing Durant will remain to be a thorn in the side of Warriors supporters.
