The Golden State Warriors have a couple of big-name players on their roster coming up for free agency this summer, with Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson both hitting the open market.

Warriors president Bob Myers says that he does plan on sitting down with both Durant and Thompson this week and said “we'll see” when asked how optimistic he is on how those conversations will go, according to Nick Friedell of ESPN.

Both Durant and Thompson are expected to miss most—if not all—of next season due to respective injuries they each incurred during the NBA Finals. Durant suffered a torn Achilles in Game 5, and Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6.

Durant is more likely to be sidelined for all of the 2019-20 campaign, and while Thompson may be able to return in February or March, it remains to be seen if he comes back at all next season.

Of course, Thompson is considered all but a sure thing to re-sign in Golden State, as he has spent his entire NBA career with the Warriors and has shown no signs of wanting to play elsewhere.

Durant, on the other hand, is expected by most to leave the Warriors this summer, with the Brooklyn Nets rumored to be emerging as the biggest threat to sign him.

The superstar forward originally signed with the Dubs during the summer of 2016 and proceeded to lead Golden State to back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018, winning Finals MVP both times. He then suffered a calf strain in the second round of these past playoffs and was sidelined until Game 5 of the NBA Finals, when he suffered the Achilles injury.
