The Golden State Warriors have been clicking on all cylinders in the postseason. However, the return of point guard Stephen Curry has reminded everyone why the Warriors are favored to continue their reign as champs.

Needless to say, Curry did not miss a beat in his playoff debut. According to Rick Bonnel of the Charlotte Observer, Dell Curry says his son is working diligently to be at full strength:

“He feels good,” Dell said. “He’s having two-a-days (workouts) every day to get back in shape.”

It is encouraging to see that Curry is able to handle the workload in his first game back. There was some concern as to how his body would respond after being sidelined for six weeks with a sprained MCL. Fortunately, it appears the former MVP is recovering quite nicely.

Curry registered 28 points on an efficient 8-of-15 shooting from the field. He also tacked on seven rebounds, two assists, and three steals in Golden State's Game 2 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite the close nature of the game, head coach Steve Kerr still did a solid job of capping his minutes at 27.
Although it is natural for any player to want to carry a full workload on their return, it is important for Curry not to bite off more than he can chew. It became evident after he missed the first-round matchup that Golden State has its eyes on the rounds that lie ahead. That said, do not be surprised if he continues to play limited minutes in this series versus the Pelicans unless the Warriors are required to do otherwise.
