The Golden State Warriors took a brutal blow when Stephen Curry suffered a foot injury at the end of the regular season. His mid-March injury forced him to miss the Warriors' last 12 regular-season games. Fortunately, the star point guard has been able to suit up in the playoffs, coming off the bench in both of their postseason wins so far.

While the Warriors lost half of their last 12 regular-season games, Curry's absence wasn't all bad, according to Draymond Green. He took the time to work on building a stronger on-court relationship with Curry's replacement, young point guard Jordan Poole.

“I feel like it’s just really happened over the last month,” Green said, all quotes courtesy of The Athletic. “Me returning from injury, it was probably a blessing that Steph was out. Because if Steph’s not out, then I just go back to doing those things with Steph,” Green said, noting the duo's perfected routine on the court.

“The fact that Steph was out, I’m like, all right, here are some of the things we can do. I’d see how teams were guarding him, and I’m like, ‘Oh, this looks familiar, I’ve seen this before. So, we can go through some of these things to free him up.'”

Poole has excelled tremendously since mid-March, and he seems to have earned his spot in the Warriors' rotation. The vacancy at starting point guard was exactly what he needed to prove himself. Now, some are even calling Poole the third Splash Brother, alongside Curry and Klay Thompson. Poole continues to prove himself as he and Curry share time on the court in the first round against the Denver Nuggets.
