The Golden State Warriors are already a depleted squad right now due to a myriad of injuries to their roster and it looks like they could be facing another one. Rookie Moses Moody exited Tuesday's contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first quarter due to an apparent eye injury and unfortunately, he was not able to return.
Moody, who was recently plugged into the starting lineup by head coach Steve Kerr, took a nasty elbow to the face from Wolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns early in the game. The Warriors rookie looked like he was in considerable pain and he had to head to the locker room to have himself checked (h/t Warriors on NBCS on Twitter):
The Warriors officially tagged the injury as a contusion on Moody's left eye and he was ruled out for the remainder of the contest:
The injury does not sound too serious, but Moody will still be in danger of missing some time here. Hopefully, he is able to return to the lineup sooner rather than later, with the Warriors currently in bad shape.
Both Draymond Green and James Wiseman are closing in on their return, but no firm timetable has been set for both of them. Klay Thompson has also been missing due to an illness. Gary Paton II recently revealed that he's been playing through a shin injury for around one month now. Needless to say, the Dubs can no longer afford any more injuries at this point.
