Former Cleveland Cavalier and current NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins had some harsh words for Warriors coach Steve Kerr on Wednesday. Perkins did not take kindly to Kerr's comments on the Anthony Davis trade drama last season, and called him out via Twitter:

To be clear, Kerr was not commenting on how he thought it was unfair that the Lakers acquired AD or that the team pursued him unfairly. Kerr just didn't think it was good for the league that a star in his prime publicly demanded a trade and then sat out games. Here are Kerr's words on the subject:

“I'm talking more about the Anthony Davis situation. Where a guy is perfectly healthy and has a couple of years left on his deal and says, ‘I want to leave.' That's a real problem that the league has to address and that the players have to be careful with. If you come to an agreement with the team that, hey, it's probably best for us to part ways, that's one thing. But the Davis stuff was really kind of groundbreaking — and hopefully not a trend.”

It's hard to see what Perkins is offended about here. It's not arguable that when one of the best players in the league sits out games while healthy, it hurts the NBA and its viewership. If Kerr had personally attacked AD, then it would be a different situation. But all Kerr is saying here is that he hopes there is less trade drama in the future and more stars playing ball for the team they signed with.

It's good to see Perkins stick up for a former teammate, but his anger might be a little misguided here. Let's see if Kerr chooses to respond to the former NBA champion.
