The Golden State Warriors have one of the most eligible bachelors in the NBA in Kevin Durant. According to Warriors beat writer Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, the former MVP wants the L.A. Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan to be his groomsman when he gets married.

Unbeknownst to many, Durant and Jordan are close friends. He tried to recruit Jordan to Texas during their college days. The two were reunited as Team USA teammates at the 2016 Summer Olympics, where their friendship was further cemented. After winning the gold medal, they celebrated by partying with several women in Mykonos, Greece.

They told Michael Lee of The Vertical in a past interview that they will each be in the other’s wedding when it happens.

“If I were to get married today, he’d be in my wedding,” Durant said. “That’s how it is. That’s my brother.”

There are no wedding bells yet in the near future for Durant, but he did come close to tying the knot with WNBA player Monica Wright, his high school sweetheart, to whom he was engaged. He told Zach Baron of GQ in a 2015 interview the story of how he proposed to her and what made him call off the relationship.

“I had a fiancée, but…I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways.”

“We was just hanging out, chilling. And I felt the energy. I felt, I need to do this right now. And I just did it. I was like…We’re engaged right now? We’re about to get married? So I was just like, cool! I love this girl. But I didn’t love her the right way.”

For now, the Warriors’ star small forward is a bachelor whose focus is bringing another championship to the Bay Area.

But come next summer, he might finally find the time to include wedding plans to his schedule.
