Warriors news: Klay Thompson addresses rumors after Kyrie Irving trade

Klay Thompson

After helping on the refurbishing of a court in West Oakland, Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson couldn’t escape the media wondering about his thoughts on a Cleveland Cavaliers inquiry for his services in a trade for Kyrie Irving.

Cavs general manager Koby Altman reached out to many teams, one of them, the Warriors —- who were rather uninterested in dealing their sniping two-guard away.

“It’s really cool,” Thompson told Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “It shows this team believes in me and it shows that these teams want me to be a part of their success, so I appreciate it.”

“It’s just part of the biz, it is flattering and I do appreciate it.”

The sharp-shooting Thompson also donated a vast amount of his Anta-branded sneakers to the school and hit the first shot in the brand new rims, opening it up for the kids in grand fashion.

Thompson has been rumored to be a wanted commodity throughout the NBA. After being linked to two of the offseason’s biggest stars in Kyrie Irving and Paul George, the Warriors ultimately said no, knowing the importance of his role in the team.

While it’s indeed flattering, Thompson has shown no intention of wanting to leave, claiming that winning has become “so much fun” for him to want to seek out his own team elsewhere.
