Mychal Thompson, the father of Golden State Warriors marksman Klay Thompson has reacted to his son's record-breaking game.

As per John Ireland, the play-by-play radio announcer of the Los Angeles Lakers, the older Thompson was asked to comment on his son's performance. Apparently, he wasn't aware that his son just forged his way into NBA history with 14 makes from downtown.

It seemed that the elder Thompson was expecting this sort of offensive explosion from his son. And based on his response, he is satisfied with his son's achievement but was perhaps expecting a bit more.

Is he prodding his son to go on another tear? Is 18 makes from downtown even possible? Perhaps so. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr opted to play him for a few minutes in the second half. And in 4:55-minute mark of the third, Thompson drained his 14th three-pointer — the most makes in a single game.

Maybe if the Chicago Bulls made an effort to fight back, Kerr would've let Thompson play the whole game. But being that it was a blowout, there's really no reason to rake in more minutes. It's a long season ahead for the Warriors with less than 10 games in.

But we very well know that Thompson, given a good night, could easily make 18 shots from beyond the arc.
