Klay Thompson sent a message to Draymond Green before his classic Game 6 performance, propelling the Golden State Warriors to ultimately come back from a 3-1 deficit against Kevin Durant and the Thunder in the 2016 West Finals.

Everybody knows that when it's Game 6, for some reason, Klay Thompson always delivers.

In an interview with NBC Sports Bay Area's Kelenna Azubuike, Draymond Green shed some light on how Thompson predicted his monstrous performance.

“It's funny, because Game 6 Klay, which is a real thing, I remember him coming to me before in OKC before that game, [saying] ‘Hey Dray, just get me the ball. I'm about to go crazy,' ” Green said. “And he come out and he's going crazy.”

Indeed, Thompson went crazy, scoring 19 of his game-high 41 points in the fourth quarter. He also made 11 of 18 3-pointers, five of which came in the final 12 minutes.

The Thunder had a scoring advantage throughout the game. Still, Green and the Warriors recognized Thompson's hot streak and continued to feed him the ball.

“How can I get him the ball? How can I get him open shots?” Green told Azubuike. “Whether that's me passing the ball, whether that's me setting the screen, how can I get him in a place where he's ready to shoot the ball?”

Thanks to Thompson's Game 6 heroics, the 73-9 Warriors team defeated the Thunder to reach the NBA Finals in 2016.

Despite blowing a 3-1 lead against LeBron James and the Cavs, the Warriors were able to sign Kevin Durant in the offseason, leading Golden State to win two more championships— cementing a dynasty in the past decade.

This season, the Warriors are looking to make a strong playoff push with Stephen Curry leading the way after capping an impressive 5-1 start. Bay Area fans are also hoping that Klay Thompson's inevitable return will aid the team's championship aspirations.
