Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson has already established himself as one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, and he reaffirmed that status during Sunday's win over the Charlotte Hornets

Thompson moved into 16th place on the NBA's all-time three-point makes list against the Hornets, passing Rashard Lewis in the process.

While you can never quite rule out a 3-point barrage from Klay Thompson, it appears that he'll wrap up the 2018-19 year in 16th place, with Chauncey Billups and Kobe Bryant next directly in his crosshairs. They don't figure to stand in front of him for too long, as Thompson has made north of 200 triples in seven consecutive seasons — which means he's within range of eclipsing Jason Kidd for a spot in the top 10 by as soon as next year.

For all the discussions that came along with Thompson's perceived shooting struggles to open the year, he has found his level and entered the night shooting 40.3 percent from deep.

He continued his barrage from long range with six more made triples Sunday, closing out the month of March shooting 45.4 percent from three.

Looking ahead, it's entirely possible for Thompson to crack the top five of the list if he keeps up his current pace. There is currently no player close enough on his heels that could realistically overtake him, and still just 29 years old, there's no telling where Thompson will spend his upcoming seasons or how many there will be.
