It wasn't just Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors who were honored on Thursday night after they lifted the Western Conference title following their series-clinching Game 5 victory against the Dallas Mavericks. Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson was also given the ultimate honor by the league by naming the Western Conference Finals MVP award after him.

It came as no surprise that Curry was named the first-ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals Most Valuable Player. The Warriors superstar had an incredible series against the Mavs and he absolutely deserved this honor. Even the Lakers legend himself could not agree more:

“It's really cool that the greatest shooter basketball has ever seen, a friend, future hall of famer, and great person, @StephenCurry30 won the first ever Magic Johnson Western Conference Finals MVP award!! Congratulations! 🏆” Johnson wrote in his tweet.

Curry wasn't actually his best in Game 5, finishing with just 10 points on 5-of-17 shooting. Nevertheless, his series-long heroics were enough for him to earn the WCF MVP title after averaging 26.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in the first four games of the series, while also hitting 4.0 triples on an insane 47.1-percent clip.

That's now six conference titles for Curry and the Warriors. At this point, though, he's still three behind Magic's nine West championships.
