The NBA has explained why Marquese Chriss received such a hefty fine for his shove on the Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic.
According to Jeff Zilgitt of USA Today Sports, the Golden State Warriors forward received a $35,000 fine was due to the fact that he has been disciplined on several other occasions for physical altercations on the court.
Per NBA, Marquese Chriss' $35K fine "was based in part on the fact that Chriss has been disciplined on several prior occasions for physical altercations on the court."

Chriss was involved in a scuffle with Doncic during the Mavericks' 141-121 victory over the Warriors. The 20-year-old Doncic didn't seem too bothered by Chriss' shove.
“Just physical plays,” Doncic said of the exchange. “That happens in basketball a lot, so just move on.”
As ESPN described, Warriors teammates such as Draymond Green actually high-fived Chriss for the shove as officials were reviewing the play.
“In the third quarter of the Mavericks' 141-121 win on Saturday, Chriss got a technical foul for shoving Doncic to the ground. As officials reviewed the play, Chriss received high-fives from Draymond Green and other teammates on the bench.”
Chriss was previously suspended in March of 2019 for his role in a fight with the Toronto Raptors' Serge Ibaka and $25,000 while playing for the Phoenix Suns after an incident in a game with the Utah Jazz.
The young forward is averaging averaging 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 33 games for the Warriors this season.
