Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Klay Thompson was never expected to play at the start of the 2021-22 season, but his superstar teammate Stephen Curry gave a clear idea on when he'll be back.

During Media Day on Monday, Curry shared that Thompson should be ready to play around Thanksgiving or early December. This fits with previous reports saying that the Warriors are targeting a Christmas return for the other half of the Splash Bros., and it's certainly a bit of good news that it could come a little earlier than expected.

However, as Steph noted, Thompson will have to fight a different battle before he can play again: frustration. After all, the 31-year-old has not played competitive basketball in two years and is undoubtedly itching to get back on the hard court and play with the rest of the Warriors.

Klay Thompson's return will surely be a massive boost to the Warriors after back-to-back years of missing the playoffs. With Thompson in the fold, Golden State is expected to be one of the favorites to come out of the West and compete for the NBA title once again–just like they used to in the mid-2010s when they went to five straight NBA Finals.

Like what Stephen Curry said, though, Thompson will have to be patient and wait for the right moment to play. He sustained an ACL tear in 2019 and Achilles tendon rupture in 2020, both of which are hard to come back from, so he definitely can't rush his return if he is not yet 100 percent.

While the next two months will be frustrating for Thompson, he just have to trust the Warriors and the rest of the team in his comeback.
