In spite of the Golden State Warriors' current woes–3-8 over their last 11 games, including a 16-point beatdown by Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks–Stephen Curry has not given up hope yet.

In fact, according to Kevon Looney, Curry shared an inspiring message to the Warriors after Friday's loss to the Hawks.

The Warriors have certainly seen better days. The unbeatable dynasty of the mid-to-late 2010s suddenly seems so long ago, and Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre, Jr. and James Wiseman are no Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant.

However, the Warriors have shown fight over the course of the season. Their offensive rating has plummeted without Steph in the lineup, and their defensive rating has been dwindling in his absence as well, seeing seven straight quarters giving up 30 plus points. Nonetheless, Curry is set to return from his tailbone injury sooner rather than later.

Even if he wasn't, his words should echo in the minds of his younger teammates.

In the inevitable future when Steph hangs up his high tops for good, the Warriors need to learn to fend for themselves. These moments without a superstar for support have the unique silver lining of maturing a team's younger pieces. Oubre, Wiggins, Looney, Wiseman and multiple others on Golden State's roster have the opportunity to prove themselves, not just to the Dubs fan base but also to the rest of the league, that they can carry on a winning culture–if not a streak.

Time will tell if this message sinks in. But hey, if nothing else, every day without Stephen Curry is another day closer to getting him back. Let's hope he does so soon, for the Dubs' sake.
