Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has been sidelined while recovering from a broken hand, an injury he sustained last month. But at first, Curry didn't even believe the injury happened.

“When I get hurt, I'm always in denial,” said Curry, according to Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area. “Nobody was really telling me anything as we were going through the process to diagnose the injury. And I was joking around, trying to distract myself because it was hurting.”

Taking it a step further, when Curry was told his hand was broken, his response was “okay, cool.”

Injuries are difficult for anyone, let alone professional athletes whose livelihood depends on the health of their bodies. Curry is no exception, and given that he has played in five straight NBA Finals and has won three titles during that span, the fact that he is going to be out for several months is extra tough.

Of course, this is hardly the first time the Warriors have dealt with injuries.

Last June, Kevin Durant (who is now in Brooklyn) suffered a calf injury in the second round of the playoffs, tried to return in Game 5 of the finals and tore his Achilles. Then, in Game 6 of the finals, Klay Thompson tore his ACL.

With Curry and Thompson both on the shelf, Golden State has been one of the league's worst teams.

The good news is that Curry and Thompson aren't going to be out forever, so when they do eventually return, the Dubs will regain at least some of their former glory, whenever that may be.
