The Golden State Warriors' dynamic duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson has not played on the court together since Klay's ACL and Achilles injuries. And after two years of being removed from the NBA, Thompson will finally suit up for the dubs next season.

However, In an interview with Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers, he indicated that Thompson is not yet ready to make his long-awaited NBA return when the season starts in October, per NBC Sports.

Head coach Steve Kerr will take it slow and ease things up before Thompson can finally be unleashed. The starting backcourt spot is up for grabs until Klay is cleared to make his NBA comeback.

Kerr mentioned Jordan Poole, who showed flashes of what he is capable of last season, as the potential man to start alongside Curry, per The Athletic's Tim Kawakami.

My gut reaction is Jordan Poole, but that’s without having seen anybody at camp. I think he’s got a great chance to start … obviously, when you make a decision on your starting lineup, you have to look at how that impacts the bench. If I feel like Jordan makes the most sense as our backup point to Steph, there’s a good chance I bring him off the bench and start Damion [Lee] or [Mychal Mulder].

So I think all of that is up in the air.

Curry went bananas last season in terms of scoring, but sometimes it was not enough to guarantee a Warriors win. They clearly lacked someone who can score besides their superstar.

Jordan Poole showed a lot of promise and potential as he averaged 14.7 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in the last 36 games for the Warriors last season. He was the one who alleviated the scoring woes of the dubs.

However, the competition for the temporary starting two-guard spot will likely be tough as the Warriors recently drafted Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga who also showed what they are capable of in the NBA summer league.

With the eventual reunion of the splash brothers in Thompson and Curry, it will be interesting to see what the Warriors will look like next season as they will clearly have a deeper rotation of players than last year.
